Try #2. Made a smaller mold.

Filled with liquid rubber.

The cavity for the missing teeth.

Nice clean mold. The rubber for casting the bore will be filled next.

The gear is turned 180 degrees so new teeth cavities will be made in the mold.

Liquid rubber is poured on to the gear and the bore of the gear is filled.

Once the rubber has cured (over night) the top is shaved off to reveal the gear.

The finished mold.

A small dam is built up around to contain the resin. Not needed I discovered.

The finish cast gear.

I made a fixture to hold the gear on the lathe to clean up the back side of the gear.

Two new gears identical to the one with two teeth missing.
